Hi, I’m Jimmy—software engineer and founder of Twilight Velocity! 🚀 My passion is helping SMBs save time and grow through automation. Outside of work, I’m an avid fantasy reader, total foodie, card game nerd, political junkie, and a proud homebody.
Surprising how much you can do with low code tools if you know JavaScript. There may be built in modules or nodes, but often times longer runtime and more execution costs. Just learning .filter and .map is totally worth.

One of the best lessons I got when I started into AI automation is to concentrate on solutions, not tools. Is n8n the best? Make? Zapier, RelevanceAI, CrewAI, PydanticAI? Depends on the task. In the beginning, just concentrate on GSD. Optimization can come later.

Dove into merges and more of the built in multi-routing in n8n today for some data syncs between systems. Seeing more and more advantages for n8n. Being able to merge 2 paths from a router in make would have been so handy! 🤓

In n8n, is there a way to feed a “split out” node an input other than the previous node? I used a set node to get around it, but would be nice to clean it up.

In the deep South, automation is still a challenging sale to SMBs. AI automation is even more so. What I've seen work better than a sales pitch is a to demo a working POC of the problem you want to solve in their business. Leave out the tech talk, concentrate on results. More reason to productize!

Ceasefire deal TLDR:

My automation deep dive took some turns, but I think it's finally normalizing. Started with make.com but cringed at it not being able to be as modular and reusable as I'd like. Went to relevance.ai, but $599/mo sucks for hierarchical agents. Went to crewai, but not every step needs an LLM. Now, n8n.

Watching The West Wing for the first time. I’m more into it than I thought I’d be!

Making an even remotely engaging reel for a company when all you’re given are a few pictures is.. oof. Building an ffmpeg api, site scraper automation, and getting lost in canva animations was a fun though! 😆 Ty YT.

I have a new found respect for graphic designers and content creators for social media.
