Also strip naked before you go in then re-equip your stuff after starting.

Yeah my bad. Wasn't trying to start a fight. I too still carry some baggage from the hellsite.

But framing it as IPv4 and IPv6 is misguided IMO which I could have been less snarky about

Anyway, I hope you can find some less foggy surf tomorrow. 6/6

I can see an argument for devices like phones needing better security defaults (and better security in general) as they're more likely to be raw dogging the internet. 5/6

But then this isn't an IPv4 vs. IPv6 thing, if you're an org with a public IPv4 subnet you're going to have exactly the same needs as someone using an public IPv6 subnet. Secure defaults, which we as an industry seem to have actually done when it comes to firewalls? 4/6

But I've not come across a consumer router or an enterprise firewall that didn't ship with deny all incoming as a default for both stacks for a good decade. So even if someone can narrow down the IPv6 address space to "active" they're gonna hit a firewall deny all by default. 3/6

I agree that we as an industry need to ensure safer defaults and that IPv6 *could* make it easier for uneducated users/admin using bottom of the barrel hardware without sane defaults to accidentally expose devices to the internet. 2/6

Nice to see you're bringing the adversarial hostility across from the hellsite by declaring anyone who disagrees with you a bot/npc or some other sarcastic reply like going on holiday because they've "solved cybersecurity" by mentioning firewalls exist. 1/6

Not the "NAT is good actually" argument again please.

The fact it isn't called "Jet Lag: The Game: The Game: Hide + Seek" is disappointing.

Don't delete it. Empty it of posts. Change the password to something you can't/won't remember. Then forget it exists. That way someone can't try and impersonate you by claiming your old handle.

To be fair most have only registered them defensively.
