It’s understandable getting unpopular measures out of the way early in a parliament, but it can’t be a good idea to completely blow off all those who voted for you and believed your promises. Becoming universally reviled can’t be seen as clever or smart.

Nicely put Owen. It is the absence of optimism for the future which poisons society. Lack of vision, a total lack of courage in our political leaders has led us to a dead-end doldrum of decay. Where is the light?

The biased bigoted small-minded selfish uncaring irresponsible destructive and negative press in the UK have contributed massively to the crisis in our national psyche and the depression hate and desperation which we see in so much of our forlorn and shuttered society.
