Always impressed by the hardiness of the trumpet vine here in central AL. This guy is hanging out in the narrow strip of bushes between a parking lot and train yard.

I’ve been on a tear reading older SF (‘50s-‘80s). Tiresias objects to Theodore Sturgeon’s MORE THAN HUMAN, a 1953 novel exploring human evolution via psychic powers. Structurally & sexually odd & dependent on vintage psych theories, not without merit, & racist in ways too delicate for me to handle.
