Easy win for my beloved Link's Awakening. Nothing has ever matched that goofy-melancholy vibe since, not even Majora's Mask.
The massive helping of nostalgia from it being my first Zelda game also probably helps.

It changes every year or two, but right now it's SMB3 for that gloriously brisk 45-seconds-is-plenty level design.

That's what makes immature work appealing: the humanity isn't obscured by technique and skill so it's easier to feel connected. But it's possible for any work, with practice.

That's what makes immature work appealing: the humanity isn't obscured by technique and skill so it's easier to feel connected. But it's possible for any work, with practice.

That's what saved me: I can't stop analysing, but now I focus it on the person not the work. A rushed early act might bug me, but wondering what made them so impatient to move on makes me smile.
