Shorty's is great but as you mentioned, by the time they got around to it, it was derivative and hastily done. It'd probably be most people's #1 by default, but I still love the Sheep Ranch simplicity, so I'd have that ahead of Shorty's.

I don't have as much respect for the original logo as you do. And the tree is great but it's an alternate logo. If we take Shorty's out of the mix and just do the original 6 pictured here, I'd go:
1. Sheep
2. Preserve
3. Mac
4. Trails
5. Bandon
6. Pac

2. Preserve
3. Mac

Yeah it was bad Thanksgiving day, I had an early tee time and had to bail cause I couldn't put any weight on it. Seems to have abated now but no fun for a couple days there.
