nobody complains about games having difficulty-based accessibility settings when they’re clearly labeled as such. celeste is still regarded as a challenging platformer despite its very permissive “assist mode”.

you’re welcome to see an easy mode as an adulteration of the gameplay experience, but so are captions, screen readers, and any other accessibility feature
