In 1984 fotografeerde Salgado de hongersnood in Ethiopië en hoe mensen in Tigray tot die hongersnood gedwongen werden door luchtaanvallen en voedselblokkades.
40 jaar later gebeurde het opnieuw in Tigray. En ook in bv. Soedan en bovenal Gaza gedogen we nog altijd dat mensen uitgehongerd worden.

De opschorting van USAID hulp heeft absoluut gruwelijke gevolgen. 4401 geschatte doden sinds vorige week, en dit gaat enkel over HIV gerelateerde gevallen. Doe er nog de hongerdoden bij of de de doden door gemiste gezondheidszorg.

30-40 jaar geleden kon je niet naast zijn soms provocerende, dan maatschappijkritische beelden kijken. Vandaag zijn de campagnes spijtig genoeg nog altijd relevant.

Children and farmers are especially at risk.
