GPT is a technology that’s solving the problem of research speed. More papers, write them faster! This problem of speed needs to be abolished. Bring back joy. GPT solves no problem if you love the work, the process of thinking.

That reading list on cartography reads like an excellent response. But, searching for materials exposes you to the size of the topic and the not quite right answers that lead to creative thought. GPT will make us robots.

A good use of LLM: scan all pamphlets -> OCR (fix with LLM) -> learn on model -> digital humanities studies for cataloging. Let the canon expand!

Same app used to checkout and search with. They’ve another for ebooks and audiobooks, Libby, which tracks, too.

Goodreads is great. I only need to track which books from the library I’ve checked out and my library app does that.

Audiobooks can be fantastic experiences. I especially love the big production ones. When my eyes are exhausted from looking at screens I’m glad there are ways to keep experiences the largeness of novels via audio.
