I don't necessarily buy Windom Earle as Coop's old partner and mentor and their relationship, I feel like that needed a deeper connection between them that the show wasn't willing to focus on, but I did find him very fun. Great death too, IMO.

I disagree, it's really only his arc in season 2 being extremely meandering (Twin Peaks was always a soap opera, but this is a bad soap opera!!) that gives James a bad rap, but to be fair, everybody in that stretch of season 2 was hit by a bit of a writing rut.

I suspect once a lot of the big AI tools aren't as easily accessible (because those companies *have* to start monetizing them in some way, they can't survive on Sam Altman making big promises and getting another investment forever) a lot of them will reconsider and be a lot less bullish.

They saw it working out for other companies like the developers for ARC Raiders who got 1/1000th of the backlash that Larian got (and CDPR also got way less backlash than Larian by staying purposefully more vague and talking about "productivity") so they'll keep doing it.

I know that what you are quote tweeting isn't *actually* talking about this but rather about giving "flavorful" choices that lead to the same outcome, but getting older I mellowed out on those because I feel like coloring your experience without an immediate mechanical choice is still good.
