A California man who had ties to a neo-Nazi group and espoused anti-gay rhetoric was sentenced to life in prison on Friday after a jury found him guilty of brutally killing a former high school classmate who was gay in a hate-motivated murder, prosecutors said.

The Peruvian authorities arrested a man trying to board a plane last week in Lima while carrying 320 tarantulas, 110 centipedes and nine bullet ants, according to the National Forest and Wildlife Service of Peru.
