I am an unreal engine developer who does a little bit of everything gamedev. Solo developing a game or two. If you work on stylized game stuff in any capacity I would love to see
Heck yeah!! Nice job glad you got it! I like the system you made it’s a clever solution!

That’s a good tip, idk why I never thought of it??

It’s sort of possible, but not in the same way it used to be. ue5 can’t package projects into a html5 or webGL since like 4.25 however pixel streaming does still work, and Ive seen it work. But it doesn’t perform as well of course. Not sure why they removed it

Aye congratulations! Does that mean you are looking for environment design work? Potential env.des. for an open world cozy countryside? Forests, lakes rivers etc. Turns out, I do not inherently know envdesign at birth like I just assumed. My island map looks a little 2002. Which isnt the worst thing

Sorry that I couldn’t give you more direct advice, my material graph-fu is not the best. Any matGraph I know is from prismaticdev. He has YT videos that almost for sure would show a way solve this problem your way if you wanted (I’d just buy the asset and adjust-analyze it personally)⏳/💸 = 🎮✅ 😎GL

Part 3, your actual question. Check the link, it’s an asset that does similar things to what you are wanting to do, but uses dynamic mesh instead of dynamic material. If you can, I’d buy it, adjust it for your needs(whole circle) and/or try and analyze how it was made. www.fab.com/listings/111...
Line Of Sight. Dynamic mesh.
The component creates a field of view (Field of vision) and allows you to detect objects. It can also be used in postprocess for a pseudo lighting and fog of war effect.Easy use in blueprint.2 geometr...

Part 2, quick ticking tip. So traces on tick can get heavy. you can probably get away with it firing every .1 or .15 seconds instead of every frame. Are you familiar with the node “set timer by event name”? You can trigger an event (or function) to repeats every so often could be .1 or 100 seconds

Ahh I see now ok, so firstly having a single character ticking is no big deal. It’s when you get many actors ticking that world time can get a little screwy.
But yes generally best to avoid it unless it is something you truly need ticking every frame.

Ok I am gonna run out of characters sooooooo,

Wdym slices status? Im habing a little trouble visualizing what you are trying to achieve. If you wanna make a real quick sketch sometime of what you mean I would be happy to help if I am able. My UE-fu is pretty decent

I really like your style, it’s cute while not being saccharine, which is a really hard balance to strike

An unholy assortment of boomer conspiracy theories, barely sane new age vloggers and once the “communes of love and bodily freedom” popped up my heart dared not look any further.

I wiped the whole OS, and took a good long shower cry

I took a look at my grandmas pc the other day bc she said it was acting up. It had Mcafee and every virus known to man and beast. I was actually impressed.
