Light makeup in normally dark/shadowed areas like the eye recessions, under the cheek bones. Dark makeup to counter bright/shiny areas (forehead, tip of nose, chin, cheekbones.)

Use costume makeup to hide your features and "flatten" your face, making you harder to accurately identify. Don't like so...
