Agreed. It’s suspicious. I wonder if he played any role in its development

I thought he gets the producer credit because Murphy hired him to star in the series and a producer credit is one of the perks?

Right wing types would probably keep scrolling if they saw your headline.

I’ve seen it and think it is dishonest and fraudulent.

I did like the Nicole Kidman Hong Kong-expat series on Amazon . . .

It’s a fraudulent, dishonest movie.

I want to see more of him! Wishing you the best in 2026.

He was so lovely in Brooklyn and The OA - I thought for sure he would become a big star . . .

If the success of the film Moneyball (2011) means anything, AI has probably already come for the athletes. They’ve got the door wide open I’m guessing.

Sentimental Value is good, but I would recommend The Secret Agent and (especially) Sirat. It Was Just an Accident is also great.

The Plague has a lot of style, and it is certainly unsettling (especially if one’s middle school years were fraught). I can see why it captured so much attention at Cannes. But it is kind of body horror-lite if you know what I mean.

Will I like The Slip? I’ve been meaning to ask you for some time, but we never cross paths. Also: curious to hear y’all’s response to The Plague. Saw a sneak peek tonight and have more than a few thoughts.

Oh, but to be reminded . . .

Zootopia 2 made $1.3 billion in eight days! What’s its cultural impact?

I think it’s all about Marty in that moment. The emotions feel earned but also selfish. He’ll probably ditch that kid within months if not weeks. Marty doesn’t seem like the type to settle down and sell shoes or television consoles.

The whole post-colonial Irish as villains plot development still confuses me.

Chalamet’s marketing blitz requires him showing up in character? Does he play the character as a thinly veiled version of himself? That’s who I’m going to see when I watch the movie tomorrow?

I saw the first one - it seemed formally innovative - but the story, characters, and dialogue were simplistic bordering on racist. People seemed to appreciate it. I just don’t take those people very seriously.

Film treats the character of Hamlet as if he were sweet Romeo. And let’s be honest, if Noah Jupe was a member of the Lord Chamberlain’s Men, he would have played Ophelia. This film is an overwrought mess.

That’s not my memory from the late 1990s. Ironically deployed, “tar-zhay” signified inexpensive big-box store with legitimate style and cool, sometimes funky, things to buy.

Not sure who Watson is, but I think he’s responding to that unfortunate situation with the football coach in Michigan.

One needs only about five to 10 film critics in their life. That doesn’t include film historians and theorists. The idea that we need or even want 60+ “critics” clamoring for our attention is stupid. If your voice is valuable, it will rise to the top.
