I had some issues with Dawn of Sorrow, but this one course-corrected for me! The map design is a little bit more separated than I'd want for the genre due to the portraits, but I at least felt like I was being rewarded for exploring! This was a good one!!!

It's actually a really convenient option for emulator hotkeys, which usually use keyboard keys.

Absurdly excellent remake from top to bottom. The combat is the best it's ever been, and the QOL is insane. Some of the field areas lost a bit of their vibe from the OG, and I miss that XSeed flavor in the English script, but other than that, truly NO COMPLAINTS.

This one's considered a real classic iirc, and I get it! I got some mixed feelings about this one though. The world, writing, and vibe were all SUPER pleasant, sweet, and fun, but I kinda felt a significant lack of...characters actually interacting with each other?? (1/3)

had to scrape my brain a little bit but I don't think I could pick anyone but them

WHAT A WILD-ASS GAME. It gives off an early awkward & janky impression of being slapped together with such heavy use of royalty free music and art, but this game is deceptively polished. I felt like I was playing an early 2000s Falcom game from an alternate universe. (1/2)

Yeah no, it's incredible. 100% at ~55 hours. Game's sweaty as hell and for absolute sickos. Team Cherry made this game for themselves and no one else, and I can respect that. Just like I said at the beginning of the year for Ender Magnolia, this is a pillar of the genre.

I had a great time! I can't speak for the PC players, but people are being WAY too hard on this game. The plot was kinda sparse and nonsensical so if you wanted more out of THAT, I wouldn't blame you for being disappointed. The game needed more hitstop/impact too. (1/2)

TERRIFIC game. I absolutely loved this. The general plot, characters, and villains were nothing too groundbreaking, but this game just had SO much heart. The Thousand Years of Dreams are presented beautifully and they'll stick with me a long time. Combat was really fun too!

To do this: open the steam client, click your name in the top right -> account details -> view purchase history and scroll down
Back when TF2 wasn't free lmao

Goddamn, this is a whole-ass game. It shares more in common with something like Armored Core Another Age/Silent Line/Last Raven than The Old Hunters. I absolutely found myself getting fatigued in base game by the open world, but this map was VERY fun. (1/2)

Yet another much overdue playthrough! This game was real good, yet at the same time I can absolutely feel I made the right choice for myself to stick to the main path and not pursue much side content. Def made the pacing better for myself. Ending went HARD. (1/2)

As a huge Battle Network fan as a kid, I owned this game in my childhood as well! However, I was bad at it so I never beat it! Now that I am older and amazing at every video game I play (no citation) I finally finished it! (1/2)

This was another replay! It'd been a few years, so I wanted to refresh my memory on this one, and oddly enough, I found myself having a surprisingly easy time with this one. It feels like the bosses in this game do NOT have enough HP for a STR build. Great Mace my beloved. (1/2)

Very fun game! In some ways, it wasn't really a metroidvania, since it doesn't really have much for progression upgrades, but I liked it a lot! The voice acting was VERY overdramatic and silly. Neat little origin story of Drac and the Belmonts!

After making it to late-game many times over the past decade+, I can FINALLY say I have finished Final Fantasy IV. I opted to play the "3D Remake" instead of the Pixel Remaster to play with the augment system, which was tons of fun! Not much else to say, good-ass classic game!

A new endeavor starts here! As a first-timer with the genre, playing AC felt vaguely like learning an all-new gameplay language. I am slowly but surely getting better at piloting, and I'm sure it'll be even better once I ACTUALLY HAVE ANALOG CONTROLS. CAUSE AC1 PREDATED DUALSHOCK.

Incredible DLC to an incredible game. It doesn't quite share the Fromsoft tradition of "the dlc is the best part of the game" but instead has to settle for "just as good as the rest of the game." Awesome areas, terrific bosses, TREMENDOUSLY OVERTUNED MINIBOSSES. (1/2)

This is an odd little duck. I was surprised to see that so late in the series, they'd choose to write an almost entirely self contained story that serves more as a character piece. I played this one in bite-size chunks over 3-4 months. (1/3)

I have so much I could say about this game but I'm gonna say little. If you are reading this, go to youtube and look up Swen Vincke's speech at the 2024 Game Awards. Expedition 33 is the game the oracle was talking about. It excels on basically every front.
