I haven’t talked about it on podcasts yet because I want to be more knowledgeable, but I’ve had Bazzite on my main drive and Windows on my secondary for work for about a month.

It’s fantastic.

Most things “just work”, and if my friends REALLY wanna play Warzone I just fire up a console

I started fresh and keep game installations separate between drives. For Bazzite, they have you select your GPU before downloading so you get the right driver from the beginning. And for specific hardware, Linux users generally find open source alternatives for companion software or live without.

Sure, it’s opt-in *now*, but this is clearly the direction Microsoft wants to take Windows in. They would rather cobble together a service to sell you than give you a secure computer. For gaming, it’s time for us to start looking for alternatives.
