Models like GPT-4o might have enough training from photos of auroras to at least tell apart overcast sky and aurora. I just have to trigger image analysis if the NOAA api says there is an aurora: www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/aur... the aurora app on my phone does not know if it is overcast...

A crappy robot could smack you using a post from the gulbilbot account as a trigger. Possible with basic face tracking setup: Raspberry Pi, webcam, OpenCV, servo motors, boxing glove, potato cannon... could be a Michael Reeves video...

The @gulbilbot account is just a digital homage to a silly childrens game in norway where if you saw a yellow car you could smack your friend in the shoulder and scream "GUL BIL!". I still haven't bothered with the webcam lol

@e18sandvika is a prototype i made to test image analysis and image description using LLMs in GitHub actions. I did this to check if it can be used to detect aurora borealis and notify me on Bluesky. I did not want to bother with setting up a webcam to test, so i used traffic cameras instead...
