I’ve been doing Rust since 2018 and this only recently clicked when I started using the {my_var:?} syntax; now it’s easier to remember the syntax when not specifying the var in there. 🤷‍♂️

I too was interested/hoping to see Merino come off for some Odegaard+Nwaneri action. If there was a time that might’ve made sense, this seemed like it. We needed some creative spark, amongst other things, so badly.

For me it’s all about conveying the context info of my cursor. In general, I like seeing my git branch, my cursor position, and diagnostic numbers (ex LSP errors, warnings, etc). In vim, I also wanna know the file type it thinks it’s in and the current mode.
