No Coincidence is a really fun read. Think the audiobook is read by the female V voice actor!

Real life Agapite lets out a huge sigh. "Whoo boy, nearly messed that one up, huh?"

I love Cyberpunk Red.

Hissing smoke and fumes, the groundcar starts to flame up. The back passenger door opens, as a seriously wounded Agapite slumps out onto the sidewalk.

In his hand is the bloodied chrome datachip, belonging to Matriarchy's drummer. He did it. The others pull him from the car, and complete the gig.
November 20, 2024 at 12:15 AM
Agapite breaks a side window and crawls inside the groundcar, miraculously dodging fatal gunfire from Kirill. Now blood-soaked, the normally timid netrunner bears down on Kirill, repeating his demand: "GIVE. ME. THE. CHIP."

Savage, Jinzo and Lilith watch as the groundcar careens into a wall.

With himself and a driver, Kirill attempts to leave the backlot, abandoning the remainder of his colleagues to the slaughter of Savage, Jinzo and Lilith.

But Agapite? That crazed gonk is latched onto the side of Kirill's car, desperately maintaining his grip.

Muzzle flashes cast vague silhouettes, and echoes of Agapite's war-cry "GIVE ME THE CHIP" resonate in the Heywood backlot.

The group use their full arsenals at each other, but before long the players have an advantage. This leads a wounded Kirill to attempt to escape in the last functioning car.
November 20, 2024 at 12:15 AM
He bellows: "GIVE ME THE CHIP" over and over again, launching himself towards a surprised Kirill.

The other players take the hint and let loose, ambushing the larger group with raucous gunfire. Jinzo decides now is the perfect time to learn about smoke grenades, enveloping everyone in cloud.

In real life, Agapite is shock white with the realisation of what he's done.

Kirill smirks: "If you're looking for datachips, I'm sure I can find something you'd like. But, you understand, it will be a separate transaction."

In real life, the other players stare intensifies as Agapite goes crazy.
November 20, 2024 at 12:15 AM
Kirill hesitates for a second, before asking: "What chip?"

Holding Agapite's stare, he fiddles with the cyberarm housing, and after locating the dataport, ejects a chrome datachip.

"You paid for an arm." Kirill calmly says, whilst pocketing the datachip.
November 20, 2024 at 12:15 AM
Satisfied, Agapite transfers the hefty fee to Kirill's agent. And it's at this point, Agapite makes a grave error.

He asks Kirill: "Is the datachip still in the arm?"

In real life, the other three players all turn to stare in horror at Agapite.

The sellers arrive in two luxurious SUVs. There's a gaggle of around 7 of them, with one clear leader. Identifying himself as Kirill, the leader reiterates the exchange terms with Agapite.

Agapite agrees, tentatively, and asks to see the cyberarm. Kirill obliges, opening a case held by his cohort.

Arriving well ahead of time, the group take their positions. Savage, Jinzo and Lilith are presumably identifiable to the sellers, and take cover positions primed for ambushing if things go south.

Agapite stands front and centre, in a new suit he bought for the exchange. He's nervous.

Fast Forward a day, to the evening of Matriarchy's critical gig, and the group has brokered a trade for the cyberarm, gathering their spare eddies together for the steep trade price.

The meet is set for a secluded backlot in South Heywood, with plenty of cover. The players suit up and get ready.
November 20, 2024 at 12:15 AM
He missed out on his three compatriots angering the patrons of the Diamond Arms, necessitating a speedy and bullet-filled exit.

The group now needed a new plan to get the arm back, and they had one thing in their favour. None of the major players in the Diamond Arms had seen or knew about Agapite.
November 20, 2024 at 12:15 AM
But what about Agapite?

He's unconscious in the back of the players' groundcar, covered in tarpaulin.

Why? Because he got a little too ballsy with a Black ICE program, trying to get the players free access to the club. He tripped something, and was catatonic for 6 hours, oblivious to everything.
November 20, 2024 at 12:15 AM
The fella that won the arm seems to have the backing of a shady security outfit, and the club is their domain.

Lilith tries to broker a meeting, yielding no fruit on acquiring the arm back. Savage and Jinzo evaluate the security personnel, scoping out their odds of taking the arm by force.
November 20, 2024 at 12:15 AM
Cue the players:
Savage as the foolhardy solo; Jinzo as the dubious Medtech; Lilith as the lethal Exec; and Agapite as the clumsy netrunner.

The group gets to work tracking the person that won the arm, eventually leading to a haughty club called the Diamond Arms, in the fancier part of the city.
November 20, 2024 at 12:15 AM
On one fateful night, the drummer, a drugged up gonk, lost his fancy cyberarm in a drunken card game. The arm wasn't his biggest loss; the data-chip stored inside the arm held critical MIDI patterns for his performance.

And with an upcoming gig, he'd look a damn fool if he doesn't get it back.
