Here me out: Earth Bender Jayce with subelement being lava, maybe one of his parents was a firebender? (1 know it's not required-) Viktor Avatar?3? He's born and Earth bender with his favored subelement being metal can imagine him studying water bending philosophy/fighting (part 1/6)
What if Mel was the Avatar and she's oorn a fire bender and Ambessa prefers to mix non bending fighting into her fighting. And obviously she's studied all the different fighting styles but not necessarily the different philosophies, Ambessa it could easily be a firebender (part 2/6)
Earth bender, or a non bender. So Mel, oaying as much attention, in not more attention to the spiritual side of things versus focusing on her Medarda duties makes Ambessa mad. Like Mel's studying the different fighting styles even before she realizes she's the Avatal and Ambessa (part 3/6)
Doesn't mind that. However, Ambessa doesn't like Mel, who's supposedly the Avatar, talking and being more placant than rightfully assertive. Now of course Ambessa isn't all bite and no bark, she's not stupid. She just thinks Mel is being a Vedarda, let alone the Avatar all wrong (part 4/6)
Mel using her Fire bending with the push and pull of a water bender even if she wasn't the Avatar and Viktor was would drive me insane. Or the light footedness of an air bender oh my stars Mel is beautiful Also, another proposal-- Jinx is the Avatar? I could work with that! (part 5/6)
