Lovely!! It’s basically how I like to eat them as well, simple and delicious :)

Thank you! Haha this was very exciting, but also a strange idea I’ve basically started preparing this meal in February 😀 How do you like to prepare your artichokes? I always steam them with a dip, but would like to try something else too sometime.

It was pretty severe! He should definitely not pick those again. Luckily he can drink the tea without problems 🤷‍♀️

Haha oh no! My husband has bad hay fever too - I planted the chamomile because he requested it so I thought he could harvest it as well. It was his one gardening task, but after picking the flowers he got a terrible rash! We think because of the pollen too 😅

They had fruits last year and this year as well, so I don’t think so?

..so I assume that went ok. I did get a lot of fungal diseases on leaves on multiple plants and bushes because of the wet June. You are right, there are so many possibilities 😅
July 31, 2025 at 6:14 AM
It was very wet in June, but July has been very dry and very warm. Tbh I didn’t watch them closely so I don’t know if the problem started in June or July. They are in clay with lots of added compost, other bushes there are doing ok. I planted them as deep as my neighbours had who gifted them to me..

Oh right! I hope you have more luck with a new plant. I think I will just see how it goes with mine from this point on.

Thanks so much for sharing! Could it be what Naomi suggested, a lack of water?

Looks great! About drying the pods on the vine - do rodents get attracted to those in your experience?

This is an awful story, and to top it all off they asked him if he ”was autistic or anything like that”!? What on earth

Mine also made very small fruit and then died! The neighbours who gave them to me also said they need very much water. I hope it is this and not the root rot mentioned…
July 28, 2025 at 5:37 PM
Ah that’s a shame… I would be interested to know what the roots looked like in case you’d dig them up!
July 28, 2025 at 4:54 PM
That wouldn’t be good! Is the whole bush affected? In mine it’s a few canes within a bush, the new growth is mostly fine.
July 28, 2025 at 4:45 PM
Some new growth also died, but most of the new canes are fine. They might not have had a lot of water for 1-2 weeks, but I’ve been watering them a lot lately. (2/2)

Thank you! The borage became massive 😂 My artichoke buds are quite small, hope they weren’t bothered by the giant borage neighbours.
