Bear was a holy creature for Finns during pagan times. So, when you needed to do some strong magic and needed a lot of "väki" to perform it, hunting and killing a bear would be a good way of tapping on that divine power.

Yesterday was the first anniversary for me starting HRT.
Now, as the pressure eases, I am sitting here, wondering about the calmness. The discordant note has become silent, my body and mind have found a way to coexist. Is this how it should have been the whole time? Man, I have been missing out.

Alli is the daughter of the now semi-mythical warrior chief Ari Halikko. More than her brothers, she has inherited the fierceness of Ari. After spending most of her life fighting in the east, she is recently accompanied by her brother Joutsi. Now the duo is coming back to their old home in Finland.

Just like their father, Toivikki and her siblings are an integral part of the Halikonhovi's household. Big and burly, good humored and generous, they are invaluable as friends. As the oldest and smartest, Toivikki is the one to call the shots, and she has the brawn to carry things through.

Ingrid is a hard-boiled merchant from Birka, Sweden. She married to the family of Halikko and has ever since been the mastermind behind the decisions and destinies of the house. She has contacts all over the Baltic and all the skills to maintain the influence and reputation of Halikonhovi.

Zubeida was a trader, hailing from the lands of the Bolgars of Volga. After she was captured and enslaved by Rus armies, she was bought by the house of Halikko, and subsequently freed. Now this smart woman is building herself a new life in the forest-covered lands of the Finns.

I'm introducing some characters of my ongoing viking age-saga called Naisten talo. First of our protagonists is Liekko. A healer and a sorcerer, daughter of a Finnish witch and Arabic scientist, is my interpretation about the life of a person who would be considered trans by modern terms.
