The total solar eclipse falls on my birthday this year, and I am nervous. Where I live in southern IL falls on the edge of totality, both in 2017 and 2024. If you look at a map, both 2017 and 2024 totality lines make a cross, right over where I live.

The last 2 months have been really intense, but it's Aries season, and the garden is waking up.

I think this is the coldest weather I've ever experienced? -20C, feels like -29C with the wind chill. I am so grateful for a warm house, reliable furnace, and the power is still on.

after a delicious summer weaving ladders + eating insects, this spider built, laid, and suspended 2 egg sacs in the cone flowers. I check on them everyday - still here, still safe, ready for spring <3

I saw a dear friend the other day. We traded plants + seeds, visited with her chickens, and picked a bunch of pears from an old tree on her property. Absolutely delicious.
