In the early 60s my husband's father made this plywood cat from a magazine pattern. She graced his house every Halloween & when he passed away we adopted her. She looks especially spooky this year with the red light behind her.

Although we haven't had very much snow yet this winter, there's enough now that I can see what neighbors are passing by the house. This is my favorite of the day.

My sister's dogs, Chico and Petey who won the company holiday photo contest.

Folks, I just had to show someone the crocheted jumping spider I got yesterday. Her abdomen is filled with eggs with baby spiders in them. #spidersky #crochet

Picked some apples yesterday. They are some beauties. My favorite so far are the Burgundy apples with a super SNAP to them.
Seven apple varieties arranged on a wooden porch floor. Ranging from really large Wolf River red apples, through dark Burgundy apples to a bag of a lot of small Hewes apples.

Made a new friend on our day trip in the hills today.
A large wood turtle (8 to 9 inch long shell) legs hidden but head out on a dirt road. They have a lovely pattern to their shell with distinct growth ridges in each section. The shell color is dark brown with small striations of warm yellow.

Started spoon carving a few months ago. Below are a few items I completed.
Three hand carved utensils. Left: a small scoop of apple wood with a weathered blue milk paint handle and diamond design. Middle: a small butter spreader from willow with the word "smör" (butter in Swedish) carved on the handle. Right: an eating sized spoon from apple wood with a heart carved on the handle and a heart finial. All are burnished and oiled.
