My both grandparents and their parents and my mom and dad and their siblings were evacueted from Karelia. Actually twice. First after The winter war 1940. And finally 1944. My family never ever trust russians.

Polio really IS lifetime penalty without parole. And disabity IS getting worse every year. Much quicker than normal aging.

I was born in Finland and now (67 years) I live in Portugal. Both countries give BPAP for free for everyone who needs it. And they also give masks etc free. It is a blessing because I have preexisting condition. In USA I would Be fucked.

They thougt I was so healthy and lively toddler that I would not need vaccination. The irony is that active children do not want to rest when their motoneurons are on inflamated. Motoneurons get killed and expecially vivid children get most severily paralysed.

I remember vividly how suprised Nicolau Ceausescu (and his wife) looked, when Nicolau started to speak and was booed back. They were used to only applauds and positive feedback. It did not take long they were shot dead after that speach.

I do not want because there a risk that he comes here Portugal. If he is deported to South-Africa, people do not want Elon either. Maybe Putin would take him.

They do not use ironlungs. We use bilevel positive airpressure ventilators. It Works like vacuum cleaner but opposite. The machine/computer costs about 5 000 euros

Gene test says that I am 100% Finn. I am retired and living in Portugal. Because of polio I can not stand cold. It is also more easy to breath here 3 kilometers from Atlantic beach.

My parents did not vaccinate me because I was so healthy and active child. They thougt that I do not need it. But children like me got paralysed, because we did not want to rest when we had "flulike" symptoms. And we got our motoneurons killed.

Problem is that (thanks to poliovaccine) we poliosurvivors are not so many alive anymore. Everyone over 60 years old. I now 67 used to speak about PPS Post polio syndrome when I was in Finland. It saved life Now I live in Portugal because I cannot stand cold.

I almost needed ironlung/ventilator 1958, but because PPS (Post Polio syndrome) I now need BPAP ventilator at least 11 hours a day, rest of my life. We know that polio sucks. O do not understand why RFK wants it back.

Poliovaccine (Salk) was ready 1955. When I was one years old in february1958, I could have had poliovaccine in Finland. But My parents thougt that I was so healthy child, that I would not need it. In september 1958 I was completely paralysed and I allmost needed ventilator.

Because 92% of people have no symptoms when they get poliovirus and 6% have "flu" symptoms, only 1 prosent (like me 1958) got paralysed. And 1 prosent get damages in the brainstem (bulbar polio).

It is true, that one of milloin who get Sabin poliovaccine live (sugarcube) vaccine develop usually mild paralysis. That is why Paul Offit & al decided that USA used Salk (dead) polioshot. Only very poor countries use Sabin vaccine.

Problem with polio is, that most active (type A) children get paralysed, because we did not want to rest, when our motoneurons were infected. I Lost 70% of my motoneurones during the acute phase 1958. Polio makes you weak, but If you are not lucky, it does not kill you.
