SPOT THE DOLPHINS
This was drawn with several different softwares and partly on an iPad and partly on a PC. My ancient Wacom tablet is not supported by Windows 11. But the iPad is filling the gap well enough, though the workflow is less smooth.
Of course I always have to sneak in a dolphin or two.

Years ago, in the middle of the ocean, in a little wooden boat, I used to feel like this sometimes, especially if the weather was stormy. You really do feel this small.
You can tell it's a rogue wave because he does not obey the wind like other waves.

Ripple Movie Possibility
I just signed up with an agent/producer in the UK who read Ripple three times and is keen to see a movie made. (I'm presuming it will be AI animated.)
Like this graphic I made myself with AI.

I asked photoshop AI to generate this image. It's a scene from my Dolphin Melody story, showing Roreka dying at sea and being rescued by dolphins. It is not perfect. He should look more unwell, but it's way better than I could draw.

In my stories, some dolphins have pets just as humans do. As with our dogs, octopuses have superpowers humans (and dolphins) lack, which can be very useful in fiction. Adobe AI and I worked together to create this image of my character Tangles riding on his dolphin friend.

Playing with Adobe AI, I generated this picture of a light-hearted scene from my novel, "Dolphin Melody". It shows my octopus character Tangles, at work in his octopus's garden.

Some pix of my recent little kayak voyage around the bay camping overnight at Cable Bay

Breadcrumbs map of my little local kayak camping trip from yesterday and the day before with an overnight camp at Cable Bay on Ruapukapuka island. This is the Bay of Islands, Aotearoa, (NZ)

While waiting to spot my son competing on his kiteboard in the BOI Foiling regatta, we spotted a gaff-rigged square topsail schooner slip beneath the headland where we waited. The R Tucker Thompson sliding gently by in light airs.
Kent Passage in the distance.

An old but much-loved photo of oraca, shot near my home in the Bay of Islands, Aotearoa (New Zealand).

If humans could communicate with the animals they eat, as efficiently as we communicate with one another, would we stop eating them? Would we better respect their share of this planet? #vegan

My question is, "Can anyone DISprove the statement in this graphic?"
I know I can't prove it, but can anyone disprove it conclusively?
I do have some logical reasons for believing it possible, which I'm happy to share if required.

I cannot prove that this is true. But can you prove that it is untrue? If not, may we give all whales the benefit of the doubt?

Very rough but you get the idea

Maybe like this? I decided to display her on the mantelpiece. Bit rough but very quick.

I kayaked out to Motuarohia (Roberton Island) today in beautiful overcast and cool conditions with light winds. Saw fish under my boat and one very large black sting-ray. The water was clear and such a beautiful colour. A few pics:

Sad sight on the beach today. Wild gull with nylon fishing line hanging from his bill. He allowed me to get within a metre. I tried to attract him with food hoping I could help, but could not get any closer. If it was just line I might have been able to pull it out but he may have swallowed a hook.

The orca Tahlequah, is grieving again, carrying her second dead baby and refusing to let it go. They say animals are not capable of grief. I write to challenge this.

I shot this while racing on a small sailboat. I drew the dolphin cartoon and included him for his joyful leap.
It would have been easy to straighten the horizon but I didn't. This is how it feels at sea.
Its my desktop image but I thought others might enjoy it.

I thought this was a fairly bland snap of me standing on the Russell wharf on Christmas day, but it attracted a lot of views elsewhere. Posting it here to compare interest.

Had a great time on the water today in my kayak Echo. Saw a shark and plenty of biggish fish but failed to snap them. Landed on a brand new beach, I'd never landed on before and had it all to myself for my picnic lunch.

This reminded me of a drawing I made some time ago:

Great news that Paul Watson has been freed and not to be extradited to Japan. Five months in prison for trying to save whales is no joke. He takes criticism from many directions and I'm told he's far from perfect, but anyone who makes that kind of sacrifice really cares and earns my respect.

I'm off to the open sea for a few hours in Echo, my little yellow kayak. Will tell you any adventures I have when I return.
