I feel like the person who chose the axes on this diagram must have been traumatised by a maths teacher as a child.

When I tell people that all of the British Isles is north of Vancouver, the reactions are 50/50 split between "of course it is; you call that trivia?" and "omg this explains so much"

oh yeah, if I've had a couple of weeks off, first practice back is always great for 20 minutes then "why are my arms so heavy? how do I play an hour set?"

Marx wouldn't think "the workers own the company," he'd see the SWEs as petit-bourgeouis. Last time I was in MV, one of the SWEs was selling his old car to his gardener by instalments, and bemused that the chap couldn't just buy a car for cash. Marx would punch the SWE and tell the gardener to rise.

Maybe. Another data point is that nurses and teachers are huge victims of number six, and tend to be very socialist, even though the state is the main employer taking advantage of how much they care.

The first five points also apply to software developers, but a lot of us end up very capitalist, and I've always wondered why. "Seize control of the means of production" is much easier when the means of production is mostly inside your head.

I didn't resent the scariness, but when I got past the initial exploration and every day had to start with basically the same trip into the shadow realm, I got too bored to continue.

Repeating the same teaching process again won't necessarily fix the problem. Perhaps the value in remedial courses *is* as a backstop, to achieve what school couldn't for those students.

Has Scott Manley ever asked you why you don't have a drawing of Togusa on your wall? I feel like you're the odd one out here

I believe you're mixing up Predator with Home Alone. Easily done tho

A sock! Though as they're cold-blooded, it's not exactly gonna keep them warm.

and his dad Admiral Paris changed his name in solidarity?
November 7, 2025 at 4:44 PM
Lorcano is charismatic and everyone likes him. Paris is a convict and lashes out at anyone who might get friendly or help him out. I hate to suggest it, but maybe the difference in attractiveness comes purely from good acting 😲

You must have heard the rumour that they just didn't want to pay the residuals to the writer of the episode, which is pretty baseline by Hollywood standards of sinister.

On the bright side, I don't think I could have kept a straight face through eight seasons of a show with someone called Nick Lorcano at the helm and LARPing as Captain Proton

related to the Zootopia showing at Confuzzled perhaps?

They're not impatient, they're just using it as an excuse to get the fox to bend over so they can look at his bum. My horseband pulls the same prank whenever I'm baking.

Nice; your work's been looking extra good lately!

It might solve some problems, but create the problem of endemic scurvy, as we would have nowhere to buy fruit and veg.

Their badge says Polar, but I think the accordion cosplayer is the one on the right with the stripey sleeve. IIRC, Furcon AI is just an unmodified YOLO object detector and it outputs the highest-confidence detection wherever it is in the image.
