Soon-to-be: Buttigieg Democrat
Well trump has effectively been exiled from his home nyc, then mayor-elect zohran(hottest political thing in nyc) comes to DC to pretend to kiss the ring. Of course, trump's been successfully manipulated and smitten.

Which Democrats want to “embrace and absolve” mtg?

Consider the possibility that Lawrence is right and those still fixated on this are wrong.

rep voters cheer their party for aiding and abetting their pedophile leader. Meanwhile, Dem voters jeer their party for failing to protect them from the chosen consequences of their vote in the last years election.

I'm not purposefully defending schumer, so I dont care how we label him. But I'd assume that our ideal minority leader, would not have been able to use the usual levers to entice ccm(never supp shutdown), fetterman(never cared about party/public criticism), durbin(retiring), and shaheen(retiring).
November 10, 2025 at 8:31 PM
Agree with everything, but I'm hung up on the "Schumer made no effort to stop them" part. Realistically what could a party leader to stop an independent senator, a braindead senator, two retiring senators, and CCM who never supported the shutdown and isnt politically at risk until 28?
November 10, 2025 at 8:19 PM
If schumer had the power to immediately fire the 7 defectors and didn’t, then your argument would be correct. But public vs private sector analogies can only go so far, hope you know that.

You could bully your employees who need the paycheck into doing something they don’t want to do. But you can’t bully employees that are already quitting.

You understand that difference right?
November 10, 2025 at 4:36 PM
So just keep “firing” Senators, including possibly Bernie, until a leader appears that can somehow convince the retiring politicians, who can not be persuaded or negotiated with because they have no need for campaign support/committee assignments, to vote against their interests?
November 10, 2025 at 4:23 PM
Firstly, fk schumer, I could care less if he’s ousted. But I want you people to explain how Senate Majority Leader Bernie Sanders could’ve whipped those 7 to stay in line.
As far as I can tell, nothing could’ve changed. But it sure as hell isn’t “the Democratic Party caved”, it’s 7 Dems caved.
November 10, 2025 at 4:03 PM
Well Schumer and the other 37 Senate Dems are still fighting for ACA extensions. It’s the 7 defectors who are running on that “pinky promise”.
November 10, 2025 at 3:56 PM
How am I being obtuse, when I’m asking you direct questions and you respond with nonsense.

What did Schumer say, then “did another” thing?
November 10, 2025 at 3:51 PM
So what could your “someone with a backbone” have done, that Schumer couldn’t?
November 10, 2025 at 3:43 PM
What could your ideal replacement/political hero have done differently from Schumer that would’ve prevented those 7 from voting the way they wanted?
November 10, 2025 at 3:39 PM
Source that Dem leadership ordered it.
November 10, 2025 at 3:18 PM
The way people automatically reframe this situation against the entire Democratic Party is so toxic.

It’s 7 Dems out of 45 Dems. 4/7 set to retire, 1/7 has mush for brains.
