In the recent TU Dublin Smarter Travel Survey- 82% said they want to use sustainable transport - there are many reasons why it's out of reach - but there is real potential to support up to 24% of our community to walk or bike to campus.👣🚲 Read more here:https://tinyurl.com/46m3p8xm

Key to motivating staff & students to travel to campus more sustainably is to show the potential rate of active travel. Distance is often used as an indicator for a potentially active trip- up to 3km is potentially a walkable commute & up to 10km a potential trip by bike.https://tinyurl.com/46m3p8xm

Is a more active commute possible?🚶‍♀️The Smarter Travel Survey shows 88% of students travel to campus sustainably (9% of students arriving on foot, 5% by bike & 76% using public transport) showing great potential for more active & sustainable travel!

👷 Volunteers from Amazon in the Community, @gapireland.bsky.social & Blakestown Drive Community Group worked side by side to transform a patch of green into a thriving habitat for wildlife on the campus, creating a welcoming environment for amphibians, insects, & birds. 🐸🪲

Applications for the awards are coordinated and supported by TU Dublin's Sustainability Eduction Team, and together with finalists, they are now working on their stage 2 applications with judging taking place at a ceremony on 06 November in the Library of Birmingham. @bgormley.bsky.social
