All they really needed to do was CS7, then slow down the development of new versions to every 3-5y and offer paid for modular functionality for all the extra fluff nobody wants. Downsize and chill.

The cloud features could have been a well integrated 10$/month extra feature. Everything you have done since was just grow unnecessarily while extorting the users and making random changes in UI and functionality to seem busy, to legitimise the subscription fees.

CS6 was already 90% all anyone really asked for, a few tweaks and fixes here and there would have sufficed. A properly done CS7 would have made it too obvious there's no need for yearly releases.
