But health and care systems are critically understaffed & undervalued – nearly 1 in 3 nurses have thought about quitting. "Better regulation" must mean investing in health systems and engaging workers through meaningful social dialogue.

The fix: a worker-centred recovery – keep cutting rates where underlying inflation nears target, and invest in education, health, social programmes & green infrastructure.
