I’ve been playing ttrpg’s since 1996 when I was introduced to AD&D 2e. Now I create (primarily for 5e) while working on my own ttrpg.

I absolutely agree with this. From what I’ve seen, most “inspired by Studio Ghibli” thing are referring only to art. I’ve recently started working on my own adventures, and while I don’t claim “inspired by Ghibli”, it’s there. I love the conflict of nature vs civilisation, tradition vs modernisation

Two big tasks saw their “completion” this week: Spells that Don’t Suck and Songs of the Spellbound Sea. You must be quite elated. Hope you enjoy the well-deserved respite.

I mean, looking back, the hilarity of the first two videos being *Video Killed the Radio Star* followed shortly by *You Better Run* is just 👨‍🍳😘

James Introcaso has always struck me as someone like BLeeM, always fun to hang around with but also a library worth of information at their disposal

There are 2-3 I keep going back to.

Break!! is one of my new favorites to play in.

Ars Magica has been one I continuously go to to get my creative juices flowing.

Genesys is one of my favorite systems to write stories in (with The Expanse AGE system following close behind) with the narrative dice

Not a lot of arcade choices (Dominoes, Depth Charge, and Star War looked to be tops in that category), but the Atari 2600 released that year with this gem that I definitely remember playing.

After thinking about this for awhile, the book (series) I kept coming back to was the Nightside series by Simon R. Green.

Yep, same. 2e in HS/military, then just kept with D&D since it was the most popular. But (as the name suggests) I also tried lots of systems. I like seeing what new ideas other systems have, and it gives me inspiration for my own in-development ttrpg.

The game I basically began my ttrpg journey with, the one that got me into narrative focus, the one that made me love skill-based & narrative dice, and the one I’ve recently had the most fun playing and looking forward to further expansions.

As long as an English Bulldog and Pembroke Welsh Corgi are included I am invested.
