small victory, but i finally ironed out a bugs in the geonodes for the hair strand style i'm using. i figured out that you can use custom normals for curves, convert a mesh to a curve for the profile, and use mesh data to control things like the creasing for the final mesh.

oh no, this is the last possible save i have... the mask isn't finished, and the fly aways and hero hair strands are gone, and the eyes are not done either...
this is so frustrating... i guess i have to start from the neck again...

still working on the obliques and serratus, i'm working on this kind of form, but it's not following the anatomy closely enough. i may redo this over again later... moving the digitation of the muscles further back, and working were the obliques meet the abs. it's all on the right track tho...

okay, another pass on the obliques and serratus. this i'm allowing myself to be much more "stylized", so i'm trying to ride the line between "gives the impression of actual muscle" and "is a bubble man." it looks good enough for now, but the abs now stick out because they're designed differently

okay, i'm getting somewhere with the obliques... i was able to mainly follow the silhouette of the original design and add some more meat without being too distracting, next i'm going to add some detail with some oblique and serratus digitations! next will probably be the muscles around the scapula.

oh this is coming together faster than i thought... i just realized that the vertex curving tool i'm using can model the lower torso a lot more naturally than i was expecting... this might work...

abs! might need some adjustments later, but for a quick block-in, this isn't too bad. i need to figure out how it's going to go into the obliques and serratus, and then keeping the torso and ribcage shape in mind...

@kevbayliss.bsky.social Hm, first pass of the deltoids is done. i think i need to add a bit more sloping to the top of the deltoids... lots of things are popping out to me that i'd want to fix, but i want to do a FULL pass. next will be abs, obliques, serratus. then teres muscles and infraspinatus?

@kevbayliss.bsky.social so i am NOT dead, i just had a much rougher winter than i expected! 😇 i'm still working on my interpretation of the jago design, and i'm made some strides. the neck (scm and traps) and most of the pec is done, i'm now going into deltoids soon!
