🛞 It’s hard to believe that we did a huge clean-up here just TWELVE DAYS AGO!!!!! And yes, there’s STILL lots to do, onwards and upwards!
Thanks to Aberdeenshire Council for uplifting this.

🌧️ It was rainy & windy but that didn’t stop them, they even managed to move a massive tractor tyre - not an easy task when full of sand - they showed great teamwork!
🤝 We look forward to working with this group next week & to developing a long term partnership with the Social Subjects Department!

👍 Many thanks as always for the brilliant support given by Clean Up Aberdeen & Aberdeen City Council for the uplift of the litter we collected!

With the recent storms and tides, some of the metal cages had broken free and were loose, with a bit of effort we were able to remove these potential hazards off the beach too!

There wasn’t a huge amount of litter, but lugging some sections of rope up the grass banks and back along the path was a good workout!
A huge thank you to the brilliant Ian & Gareth, for helping Lauren again today! Your efforts were very much appreciated!

Thank you to everyone for doing what they can to try and improve this area that is absolutely blighted by these volumes of rubbish!

This was our second clean-up as part of our Climate Week North East series, tomorrow we go again at 13:00 at Whinnyfold.

🙌 Lauren was joined by Ian, Angela & Gareth who have all volunteered for previous cleans, so they knew the drill but wow it was exhausting work!
🌊 We also met Robert who has been doing his best to lug the litter he finds when walking his dog above the HT line to prevent it washing back out to sea.

🗑️ We found ropes, nets, tyres, lots of smashed up plastics AND a lego brick!
👉 Tomorrow we will be at Craigewan, Peterhead and will be meeting by the Ugie Bridge at 13:00, if tou can spare a bit of time to help, please do pop along - all are welcome!

🤩 Boskalis Subsea Services are also one of our corporate sponsors who donate to our Turning the Plastic Tide project, enabling us to carry out beach cleans along the Grampian Coastline and deliver our school marine education workshops too! 🙌
