This isn’t me giving up on the fight, but me reminding myself that I am so much more than what I’ve been fighting for. And I think I need that reminder. Maybe some of you do too.

So I’m shifting. I want to build a life that isn’t just about pushing forward, but about 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨—about feeling inspired, about reconnecting with my passions, about having things that bring me joy no matter what the world throws my way.

The politics, the dating experiences, the small moments of dysphoria—without other grounding forces, they hit harder than they should. And I don’t want my sense of self to be solely dependent on how the world sees me.

I want more. I 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 more.

I miss art. I miss music. I miss the parts of myself that exist beyond survival and advocacy—the parts that thrive in joy, creativity, and curiosity. The truth is, when so much of my life revolves around gender, it makes the weight of everything happening in the world feel even heavier.

And while I don’t regret that commitment, I’ve realized that in the process, I’ve put so much of my identity into being trans that I haven’t left enough space for being me.
