I haven’t felt this happy in a long time. It’s been one piece of good news after another. And as always, Longmont, you make me proud!

My oldest child marching in the Boulder County Fair Parade with their new friends from the Northern Arapaho Tribe and Chino, Japan. Last night, we had the Arapaho to our house and the kids danced for hours on our porch together, while FaceTiming the Japanese kids. This is how peace is made.

Fixed air conditioning and it was only $250. Now to fixing the wet carpet in my flooded basement (broken drain pipe, thankfully another (relatively) cheap fix)

When you you want to take your kids to a castle in Okinawa, finally get there, and find out that the castle FELL DOWN, but they put this building over it with this painting on it.

“This castle you would have been seeing today…”

My husband is Japanese and from Tokyo; we are currently in Japan. People keep speaking to him in simple English with over dramatic hand gestures, trying to show him where to put things. But yet they speak to my teen with dyed hair in Japanese. It is absolutely hilarious.

“I want milk tea and toast.”
“Milk tea isn’t included in this set. Only hot tea.”
“Hot tea please.”
“Do you want milk in your tea?”

Ah, Japan.
