i dont particularly love or hate peace walker. the story is a fun ride, but the game play really sucks and only kicks in during the end game grind (which sucks).

portable ops' story is dumb as fuck but the gameplay and environment design was great

if i had to give a number i'd say 7.5/10. even saying that, this is my favorite game other than arceus in recent memory by a wide wide margin. i hope legends sequels will add in more rpg stuff. less formulaic side quests, actual dungeons to test resource management etc

using kalos, the region with one of the more personal stories in the series was a great call for this. if the main line is to 'expand the world' and legends 'deepens the world' then i guess mission accomplished!

i confess, it is actually kinda fun to twist the knobs and tinker. getting just the right setup of checkpoints, loras, weight values, CFG, clipping masks to fix faces etc. it has that 'debugging' feel that makes programming addictive. i see the appeal!

the sheer amount of hardware required to stack enough supplemental models for specific information really limits the chances of any sort of artistic panopticon. the knowledge that it can only generate recycled ideas is comforting i suppose.

you do learn pretty quick into the implementation process for genAI just how dumb these "AI" things are by default. without extremely curated and labelled datasets they are near worthless.
