I have not been keeping up with the story, so I am unsure how Kusumi has been brought up... but I am sure he walks life as an adult who has failed his duties and knows it. He is a man saved by "forgiveness".

Midorima... as vice captain in high school, you should spoil your juniors rotten like your upperclassmen and Takao once did for you. The unapproachable vice captain of middle school, I want you to leave him in the past. I want someone to teach you the role of a vice captain different from before.

In a way, wasn't Akashi the "light" that Midorima wanted to bring back? "As promised, I will teach you defeat." No one says such a declaration to just anyone.

The duty of a "vice captain" was to uphold the "captain" no matter the cost. I'm not saying Midorima was unaware, but he used duty as his excuse to turn a blind eye. Maybe what I am saying is Midorima did not do what was "right", but what was expected of him.

That kind of story... will someone write it for him someday?

The Misumi who grants forgiveness without faltering. His maturity must astound them. Misumi doesn't quite understand the awe, but for Kusumi and Madoka, it is obvious.

Takao gives off the impression that he took to basketball like fish do to water. But for Shin-chan it is hard to tell. Were you naturally talented at the start? I want to know how much you grew in elementary school.
