The ultimate sacrifice. The soldier leaning on the tank to the left is my Great Uncle Peter Snoich. This picture was in the 5/15/44 Life magazine and was taken weeks before the Normandy invasion. Peter was KIA 11/28/44 at the start of the Battle of the Bulge. Eisenhower is to his right.
