Week 4 - 1A Clinic at SMU Law School done & dusted. Students filed Public Information requests for varied government records - UFO sightings, Alcoholic Beverage Act violations, and zoning and land use statistics. Then the ABA Communications Law Meeting in Austin-good friends and great lawyers!

Week 4 - 1A Clinic at SMU Law School done & dusted. Students filed Public Information requests for varied government records - UFO sightings, Alcoholic Beverage Act violations, and zoning and land use statistics. Then the ABA Communications Law Meeting in Austin-good friends and great lawyers!
Celebrating the end of the second week of classes with donuts and kolaches. Really productive weeks - two briefs filed, one dismissal obtained, and we’ll be in court on Monday. #smulawclinics #smulawschool

Our 2023-2024 First Amendment Clinic Supplemental Report went out the door today, listing and describing the 46 matters our students worked on and attaching the filings and rulings in those matters. 1909 pages - it was a busy and productive year, thanks to our students! #smulawclinics #smulawschool

This week in the 1A Clinic at SMU Law School we heard from the Wausau Pilot and Review editor about defending a SLAPP suit in a state with no anti-SLAPP law. They won and are now appellees. Good luck and thanks for visiting with our students!
