On the other hand, if patco is paying for maintenance thru its rent on those stations then it needs to start raising hell or cut some of that back to pay for it itself

I mean, i will just rough it out, bc that’s how it is, but the hand waving of “it’s the city who maintains that” etc is only good for so long, im not entirely sure a suburban oriented service should be offloading parts of its maintenance onto the city, which we all know is broke

in some cases these stations are ending up looking worse than a lot of the center city septa stations, i mean the other day there was a puddle of pee at the top of the steps, and when i came back to the station 6hr later it was still there just with a wet floor sign on top

for a bit the vibes here were worse than the other one but im hoping that was growing pains and I’ll give it another chance

nice city! i hope to visit some day, that’s a bit longer of a route. Empire Builder to Capitol Limited to Pennsylvanian in Pittsburgh or a NEC service in DC. really hope one day Amtrak revives the Broadway Limited for Chicago-NYC via Philly

Philadelphia is a great (and affordable!) city. I don’t think there’s anywhere else in the country that really compares, depending on where your from Amtrak is cheap to here and 30th St Station is beautiful
