I make games | Currently making The Flux Phenomena with Snowballtheanvil!
The GMTK game jam just wrapped up and My friend snowballtheanvil and I made a game for it!
Its a bike racing game set in 3 different maps with paths that loop round!

I love making little tools to make game dev easier.

Then we set about trying to make a boss.

This is where progress slowed for us!

After creating 2 attacks and some basic movement I got ill and life got in the way :(

Next up we created some test levels to make sure the movement felt fun! (which it did)

Starting off we created a new project and quickly got basic player movement working along with some basic crouching and sliding!

Making a Game in 1 Month - Day 22
- Added a laser attack to the boss
- Created particles for the attack
- Added explosion screen shake!
The attack still needs work and I'm open for suggestions on improvements!

- Teammate created a model for the 9000
- Added the model into the game

- Created an air strike!
- Added (a little to much)physics to the boxes

- Fixed some audio issues with FMOD
- Created the boss fight scene
Today me and my teammate discussed ideas for a boss fight along with ideas for the setting of the game!
Tomorow we plan to start creating the boss fight!

- Added FMOD for sound effects
- Added VERRY PLACEHOLDER sound effects (unmute video to hear)
- Added speed lines when you go fast!
Tomorow I plan to start working on the boss AI and environment art!

- Tweaked grappling movement
- Added a skybox
- Tweaked some post processing!
Tomorow I plan to fix the timer as its broken and also add in some sound effects and visual polish!

Making a Game in 1 Month - Day 13
- Fixed the sword combo system
- Created a new test level
- Disabled the swapping of items whilst that item is in use
- Tweaked the grappling movement!
By the end of this week we hope to have implemented some basic enemies and a boss!!!

- Reworked the movement (again)(again)
- Made some tweaks to the grappling gun
- Expanded the level
- Added a combo attack to the sword!
Tomorow I need to fix up the final issues with the grappling gun and start making enemy AI!

- Finished working on the grappling hook!
- Tweaked some movement settings
- Created small test level (shown bellow)

- Teammate made a new model for the sword!
- Implemented the basics for the grappling hook (still work in progress)
Tomorow I want to change how the grappling hook works to fit the game instead of the tutorial I followed :)
