Last post of the weekend before I vanish again. Excerpt! Mini warning for vomit, nothing descriptive

Excerpt of a text: Despite it, Wolfgang could see the tensity in her muscles, the slight shivering in her fingers. She took a shaky breath before whistling, projecting the sound out to the thing in the trees. It's tiny head erected at her message, stumbling through the snow towards the clearing. It wasn't on hands and feet, but on it's knees, clambering down the the hill. Amara braced herself. For something so mangled and weak it moves with good speed, almost barrelling down, having moments where it tumbles, but easily getting back up and continuing to gallop down the slope. It began to snarl and grumble beneath it's breath, horrific noises. The ghoul was trudging through the thick piles of snow, rapidly approaching on the front deck, when Amara raised the rifle, braced in her arm, in what Wolfgang guessed was perfect position. And she pulled the trigger. Excerpt of a text: The creature lopped onto the ground, stopping dead in the snow, already growing red beneath it's slumped body. A lot more of it's head was now missing, gore and bone peaking through the wounded skin. Wolfgang stood in the doorway, Warren eventually reached his side, lingering a bit further from the door. He tried not to look at the weakened corpse, only Amara. The gun lowered in her arms, pointing down to her feet and hung limply in one hand. She was unbelievably dazed, blood drained from her face as she still stared at the fractured heap in the snow. He stepped onto the porch, approaching Amara slowly, still with his shovel in hand. Warren hesitantly followed, stopping at the door and refusing to progress to the outside. Amara lurched over the railing of the deck and retched into the snow.

It's a good way to subtly introduce stuff expanded on/fulfilled later on, but I always wonder if I go too vague

It's not important or spoiler-y so I will share (For context, this is separated by 2-3 paragraphs)

Actually looking at it now i wonder if it's too obvious
Excerpt from a text: "My father did, mostly full of his books and collections," Warren rattled on, fingers still caught up in his hair. "I added to it myself with textbooks and essays, though never enough to call it to my own." Excerpt of a text: "Thank you, my dear," Warren murmured, reaching a hand to brush the sleeve of his coat. A gift of his and probably the warmest thing Wolfgang owned. He wore it everywhere.

A passage from an Ellipsus document which reads: "Wolfgang had been creeping into Warren's bed each night for about a week already. Not for intercourse, absolutely not. Warren would never tolerate such a thing. No, it was mostly for comfort, soothing. Truthfully, Wolfgang never would've been able to confirm or deny is the love he had for the Professor was ever romantic, it was always just a want for a confidant or a warm place to sleep."

Everything happened far too quickly. It was nothing, all was still and quiet, maybe a quiet shiver within the trees and the underbrush. There was hardly a sound besides the hushed angry voices and stiff air that circled the clearing. Snow crunched beneath boots and wind whistled. It was so cold and the ground numbed people's feet through their boots. Then it was like a spark caught, a blaze erupted from the flora already the size of a bush fire. It singed and burnt, some violent fury brought by nothing but instinct. No distinct or identifiable line of thought, but some bout of violent fear. It's all thrashing and limbs and far too much noise and activity at one time; ear-piercing screaming and snarling and blood in the snow.
