Trisselle wanted to ensure her own strength after the end of SHB and have reliable means of protection for her eventual travelling to the Thirteenth.

"How to make ACTUAL interesting OCs" "How to make OCs people will care about!" dog if you can't love your own creations that's where you need to start, don't make brand new beings for other's approval. You'll never truly love them if they're tied to a stranger's perception.

A personal headcanon I've had for the longest while is that because of her pact with Scathach, one of the physical characteristics that were altered was her eyes. And this "glow from decay" look is perfect for this.
