Obviously it's because there's an inherent risk in OC not turning a profit. Using pre-existing properties can take advantage of fandom/nostalgia to guarantee... oh wait.

The last game I finished was "Dragon Age: Vanguard". Lots of ties into all the previous games, but you don't need to get all the references (they recap the important stuff from the previous game). I really enjoyed it.
Right now I'm playing Metaphor Re:Fantazio. I'm having a lot of fun with it!
