It is infuriating that incorrect terminology, such as illegal to describe those arriving on small boats. They are deemed asylum seekers until proven otherwise so irregular NOT illegal! This is the kind of rhetoric that is fuelling the hatred. Correct people! So the public learn something too!

Currently watching newsnight with Jessica Elgot, John McTernan and Steve Baker. Can the BBC please call out people who use the term ‘illegal’ migrants or immigrants. There is, under international law and British law, no such thing as illegal when it comes to refugees and asylum seekers!
