We need school boards where Black and Brown voices are not pathologized for speaking up. Calling out injustice is not a mental health crisis.

If you’ve ever been told to calm down, sit back, or get help just for telling the truth, you’re not alone. And you’re not the problem.

Emails like this are meant to wear you down.

To make you question yourself.

To force you to act “respectable” while your community is being disrespected daily.

I won’t play that game.

Let’s be clear:
This is gaslighting.

And it’s part of a broader pattern used against people of color who speak out, especially when we challenge racism, policing, or systems of power.

The phrase “your concerned fellow board member” is condescending and calculated. It’s tone policing, a way to dismiss passionate advocacy by framing it as irrational or unstable.

Telling someone to “seek professional help” is a stigmatizing jab, especially toward someone like me who lives with ADHD.

It’s not about care. It’s about silencing and shaming.

This is not concern.
It’s a personal attack disguised as professionalism.

A textbook ad hominem—targeting me instead of engaging with the real issues I’ve raised.
