An anti-poverty charity and community of food banks working to end hunger together 💚
Every family should be able to afford food and heating.

But the two-child benefit cap is pushing families to the edge. Many of them are working.

Removing the cap is the simplest way to protect struggling families - help us call for change now 👉 bit.ly/4ovyIAj

Cutting disability support doesn’t help disabled people into work.

Disabled people need accessible jobs and compassionate support 💚

❗ More children are being pushed to food banks each day because of the two-child limit.

No child should know what a food bank is, let alone need one.

Ask your MP to write to the Chancellor to remove the two-child limit now 👉 bit.ly/4ovyIAj

🚨 NEW: Ending the two-child limit would lift 470,000 children out of severe hardship.

It’s the simplest way to protect families from needing to turn to food banks just to survive.

Email your MP to call on the Chancellor to end this cruel policy 👉 https://bit.ly/4ovyIAj

📈 Rents are soaring...

📉 but housing support isn't keeping up.

This is leaving people facing homelessness, or living in cold, mouldy, unsafe homes.

It's so wrong. We're calling for urgent action to properly support people to access the homes they need. 💚
October 14, 2025 at 3:46 PM
No one should have to live in a mouldy home.

But the price of rents has absolutely shot up in the last 5 years, and Clare’s experiences are sadly all too common.

This isn’t right. Everyone should be able to access warm, safe and affordable housing. 💚

We see comments like this all the time.

But the thing is, lots of people who need food banks HAVE JOBS.

Bills are rising, rent is sky-high – and wages just don’t cover it all. Even when income is topped up by Universal Credit, people still don’t have enough money to survive.

Every day the two-child limit pushes 109 children into hunger.

The UK gov PROMISED to end the need for emergency food.

So we're backing@savechildrenuk.bsky.social to greet MPs to the Labour Party Conference with a message they cannot miss. 👀

Ending the need for food banks in the UK is possible.

🎤 We asked one of our experts - Research Manager, Alex - to explain how we get there ⤵️
September 24, 2025 at 9:05 PM
Over 14 million people are facing hunger in the UK.

We took this news straight to Parliament, and spoke to politicians, academics and charities about the changes we need to bring this dire number down.

Together, we CAN create a future where no one needs to turn to a food bank to survive.
September 16, 2025 at 3:23 PM
Over 14 MILLION people faced hunger in the UK last year due to a lack of money.

Our latest research shows:
‼️ 2.5m more people are facing hunger compared to 3 years ago
🚸 3.8m children faced hunger
💼 Nearly 1/3 of people referred to our food banks were in a household where someone's working
September 10, 2025 at 8:52 PM
Despite having a full-time job, many people are having to turn to food banks just to get by.

Rents are sky-high, our social security system isn't providing the support it should, and food prices have risen by a THIRD in 5 years.

It doesn't have to be like this.

Good to see the Green Party's new leader - Zach Polanski - raising the issue that people are struggling to put food on the table.

We CAN end hunger by ensuring everyone can access secure jobs and affordable homes, and updating our social security system.

❗️NEW: scrapping the 2-child limit could lift 4 MILLION people out of poverty.

Hunger and hardship impacts families, children, communities AND the UK’s economy.

Tackling it is simply the right thing to do.

❗ Parents are having to skip meals to pay for expensive school uniforms.

A new school jumper could mean no food for a week.

Back to school should be an exciting time - not a time when families are stressed out and facing hunger.

❗️If you have cancer, you should NEVER have to worry if you can afford food.

Cuts to Universal Credit will be devastating for people who get diagnosed with cancer from April 2026.

PM Keir Starmer said: ‘my ministers will leave no stone unturned to give every child the best start at life’

❗️Scrapping the two-child limit in Universal Credit would lift 670,000 people out of severe hardship.

THIS is a stone they need to turn over.

❗Scrapping the two-child limit would lift 670,000 people out of severe hardship.

It would mean fewer families would need to turn to a food bank, and would give children a fairer start in life.

❗️NEW: Graduates are being left with no choice but to apply for Universal Credit.

After 3 years of studying and paying high fees, they're struggling to find well-paid, secure work, dealing with sky-high rents and the rising costs of living.
August 6, 2025 at 11:55 AM
People turn to food banks when they don't have enough money to survive.

Lots of people are in-between jobs, have health conditions or are looking after loved ones.

And some people are in work that doesn't pay enough to get by.
July 28, 2025 at 11:54 AM
🚨 NEW: The number of people trapped in temporary accommodation has hit a record high.

131,140 households in England are living in temporary accommodation, including 169,050 children.

A lack of affordable housing is driving up homelessness and pushing people to food banks.
July 22, 2025 at 1:50 PM
❗ Millions are already facing hunger and hardship.

Rising food prices will only add more pressure to families who are struggling to put food on the table.

This isn't right. Everyone should be able to afford the essentials they need to survive and live with dignity 💚
July 16, 2025 at 10:58 AM
Something’s not right when 1 in 5 people receiving Universal Credit and disability support have needed a food bank in the last month…

Our social security system should provide just that - security. 💚
July 15, 2025 at 8:19 AM
❗ BREAKING: Almost 40,000 more children are at risk of not having enough food or a warm home because of the 2-child limit, compared to last year.

Our social security system is failing to protect children from hunger.
