Educator. Trumbull Town Council D5. CT Parking Reform Co-founder. UConn alum. Personal account.

Pro: homes, safe streets, utility regulation, hiking, local beer

Anti: parking mandates, snob zoning, authoritarians.

CT’s a beautiful place: let’s share it.
I really hope they do. If they don’t, we’ll be dealing with the power and influence their money can buy for generations. Trump children with unlimited money sets us up for disaster in the future…

Yes they absolutely think the local police will refuse and either openly or low-level rebel…

Totally get the experience! The CT GOP has literally no governing agenda outside of “support Big Daddy Trump,” but their fake promise to cut taxes but preserve everything is always there

But at this point it won’t happen until we literally go broke to force it…hope I’m wrong!

Politically my pitch would be the simplest: “we can’t afford our expensive highway budget and every state around us tolls, we should get some money too”

Unfortunately Governor Lamont absolutely s*%t the bed while trying to roll out tolls in his first term, setting this policy and discourse back years.

We can’t build enough lanes or connectors to fix the issue, but we could try managing demand.

Can’t wait for Stamford, CT!

Praying for the girl’s recovery, but we don’t need prayers to make these crossings safer. This is a densely populated area—do the work to make it safer!

She’s also incredibly generous with her time. I reached out after being elected to Trumbull Town Council to ask her about safe streets and being in local government.

She instantly told me to call and gave me over an hour of her time, starting the discussion with “tell me about yourself, Tom.”

Lastly...I'd really recommend this article. There are three authors listed, but it was the product of numerous authors, including some of the smartest women in the state of Connecticut.

Or, rather, the ultimate goal is land-use change (which is why I helped co-found @ctparkingreform.bsky.social and push for residential parking reform) that enables less driving and more walking/public transit.

I've been very vocal online and in person about wanting them for Trumbull. Like any policy, there's possible drawbacks or ways this backfires, but I think the benefits are worth the risks.

I will advocate for cameras in addition to infrastructure changes (which are ultimately the goal).
