Understanding the role and regulation of these modifications is pretty complex but we like to think of them like keys on a piano where combinations make a song-the function of Hsp70 😀

Chaperones have been studied for a long time but recently we realized they have a ton of modifications (PTMs), over a hundred in fact. My group studies the role and regulation of all of these modifications we are now known as the Chaperone Code

Given all the extra followers. I just wanted to re-introduce our research. All proteins need to be folded into their correct shape and this often needs the help of chaperone proteins such as Hsp70

A really important skill for trainees to learn is to be a “closer” of a project-that is to take it over the finish line for publication. This means doing the experiments, getting the figures/text ready for submission and being prepared to do review corrections 😀
